Having lived and worked on traditional restoration projects in the Auvergne, France, (and drank a lot of wine) we were pleased to find an incredible natural winemaker from this region to add to our list. A perfect blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir. Manual harvest from 20 to 40-year-old vines. A bold, warming reflection of Autumn in the Loire Valley with ripe red fruits balanced with refreshing minerality from the Gamay. To be enjoyed over lunch with Saint Nectaire, Cantal (personal favourite), Salers, Fourme d’Ambert and Bleu d’Auvergne.
Terre De ROA – Saint Pourcain – Loire Valley
The vineyard of Terres de ROA extends over 11 hectares spread over the communes of Monétay sur Allier (sandy soils) and Breuilly Cesset (granitic soils). It is run by Lauren and her parents Claudine and Luc Tisserand. They work with four grape varieties: Chardonnay, Gamay and Pinot Noir, which are common in this region of the Loire Valley – and the Tressallier grape variety, which is grown only in Saint-Pourçain. Utilising wild herbs and weeds in homemade fertilizers to enrich the soils, Lauren is particularly fond of nettles – those who know, know! It is the only Domaine in the Saint-Pourçain AOC Appellation in Organic Agriculture certified by Ecocert in 2009.
Their philosophy: just let nature take its place.

I ordered the prosecco and the olive oil. The Olive oil is delicious and fresh there are some lovely earthy flavours. I can taste the love it was made with! The prosecco was smooth and subtle perfect for a warm afternoon. It complimented my roasted veggies in the garden!
